Blessed with good looks and superpowers, Metro Man (Brad Pitt) lands in a rich family. And Megamind? Blue little baby, who is cute no less, flies straight into prison when he first lands on planet earth.
What a fate.
(With divine interference from the makers, of course.)
Let’s put it this way. Metro Man’s background and upbringing are what most of the common folks can only dream of. Like it or not, think Good.
Whereas Megamind… The prison as his home, inmates as his surrogate parents, a very unusual upbringing, and his skin color against the mass majority—how ideal are those against Metroman? Well at least Megamind, as his name already suggests, has a super brain. Though it seems no one truly appreciates him, except his dearest faithful subject, Minion.
Alienated and bullied at school, Megamind did all he can to assimilate. But these normal children treated him as an outcast, championing Metro Man as their hero. Left out and helpless, Megamind is forced to retaliate, and he assumes his evil identity.
So much for the good and kind acts of kids in school huh?
Cut the chase. Each time Megamind puts up a fight, Metro Man defends Metro City. Until one fine day, Megamind wins. Evil triumphs and rules.
Then Megamind feels hollow without Metro Man’s fights. What’s Evil without Good? His reign of Evil, doesn’t somehow feel like what he expected it to be.
Lo and behold, in his aimlessness, Megamind, the most unlikely character, falls in love with Roxanne (Tina Fey).
So Megamind cooks up a scheme to re-create the unceasing battle of Good and Evil. So poof! Titan is born. Made to succeed Metro Man. Somehow along the way, Titan starts thinking otherwise. True Evil brews with misplaced powers.
As Megamind fights to save his loved one, Roxanne from Titan. He feels, he is perhaps, not so evil after all.
Megamind teases us into re-understanding what really is Good or Evil. Beyond these huge lessons of morality, this is a comedy with lots of twists and turns, a watch guaranteed to tickle you and perk your day.
